Thanks Lunaria Gallery - Silverton, Oregon

Thanks to Lunaria Gallery in Silverton for the opportunity to show eight of my recent paintings along with the work of artist Debby Sund-baum Sommers.

The pandemic changed our lives and shut us in...but for artists, that means time to process feelings through art making.

I did a lot of painting ;)

Our show will be up in the Loft space,  in March through the end of April.

Take a beautiful drive, enjoy the spring weather, feel the hope.

Thanks Pacific Universtity

Art is about ideas - mainly - so as an artist it is helpful to have a show - collect one's work and step back and see it from a distance. When I am up close and in the moment of making, I can lose perspective of progression and trajectory. Once I have stopped and stepped back, and looked away for awhile...I can see things with fresh eyes.

Cawein Gallery - Pacific University

This show has done that for me and I have gratitude for that. Thank you.

Here are a few ROUGH pics - from my studio, of some pieces I am finishing up. Again - I was stumped by one of these and it took me a few months to decide on the final step.

I'll get some professional shots soon ;)

Update coming soon

I have been busy teaching online - which takes many hours - believe it or not. Maybe it is because it is all completely new to me. It is fun...working with limited materials and access.

That said - I do have photos of all my new work - completed over the summer.

I will post it in the next few days.

Don't be surprised if it is forest inspired...because it is.

Hello again

Hi-
We all are living through some pretty wild times.
I am a public school art teacher and have been Soooooo busy switching my teaching to online approaches.

Frankly - I have enjoyed the challenge and my art teacher colleagues have been amazingly helpful - and this very new work has taken hours and hours - but I'm getting the hang of it...at least in this current version.

In the meantime - I have mailed a piece to the Yellowstone Art Museum for a show titled
North X NorthWest.

As the museum has been closed and will open in a limited fashion concurrently when the show opens in late May - we have been offered the opportunity to make a video or some digital communication about our work.

Well, I am not film-maker - but in this DIY time of digital communication in lieu of in-person time, I am figuring this stuff out.
ALSO- I am grateful for the down-n-dirty looser standards of the amateur efforts.

Long intro - here we go- hope it's helpful (the challenge of figuring it out was fun...at least when I got over the worry part).

Hang in there...we'll get through this.
Love - to all
