I have returned to making monotypes - back to my printmaking roots....full circle.
I am finding that they are a great way for me to discover new ideas and discover, I mean! I have to approach them with a general idea for theme, but remain quite open to what will emerge.
I find that working for a few hours and then having a clean up, gives me pause to review and reevaluate my direction in the work. Funny, I have often thought that how the art develops is a little serendipitous, quite depending on the moment.
...like walking on the path of life...each step is a choice in a new or angled direction.
You can see, I often like working in pairs, or two at once, giving me more opportunity to experiment.
2017
These below are all on rag paper, ~11" x 15"
(I was working on a new batch for the last few days. They will take awhile to fine tune... but this is a rejuvenating way for me to work. Yea for 2018.....)
