Update

Hi-
It's been a busy time with lots of extra volunteer responsibilities, but that is over now!
I have worked on art...as always and here are some recent paintings with a few monotype prints mixed in.  Here are a few examples, I have many more....

Summer

I have taken a couple great trips this summer and both have included time in the forests.
Trees, forest, streams, water, rocks, mountains....my favorite parts of nature.
I read John Powers' book "Overstory" and am now more preoccupied with my appreciation of old tree and old growth forests than usual.
This is all to explain the prints that I have been working on this summer. A bunch are tee-ed up ready for the final 25% of work to pull the images together.

Here is a preview:

so nice

So nice to hear my fellow artists speak about their work and nice to be heard.
Nothing haphazard in our approach and there is a seriousness and clear intentionality about what we do.
Thank you Hester Coucke and the Corvallis Arts Center!

rediscovering monoprints - connecting with my printmaking ...past

I took a monoprint workshop this past weekend at OCAC, working with a fantastic teacher Andrea Borsuk and a roomful of talented artists. I will admit my head was down into my own work trying to figure out a system combined with subject matter that would resonate personally.
Okay, my real goal was to give myself time to explore, but I think I have found a new and interesting thread for myself.

I plan to take this momentum further (I already purchased the supplies) and we will see how this develops and compliments my efforts in painting.

Here are the keepers from this weekend. (all about 11"x15" iphone on the dining room table pics :))
