Nice looking show at the Walters

Thanks you to the Walters Cultural Arts Center for hosting our show Layers.

Special thanks to all who skillfully hung the show. The pieces in proximity tell a story and emphasize certain visual features or themes.

Last night it was hard to settle down. I worried about my gallery talk and at 2:30 in the morning - wishing I had said this, or that, I came downstairs and made this google slide show to articulate a way to view the work.

As a teacher - this is my preferred method. I just can't help myself.

I appreciate the opportunity to share!

Layers - 3 person show at Walters Cultural Arts Center

New Work and a few you have seen (on this blog) before.

Should be a wonderful show at the Walters Cultural Arts Center.

Opening Reception:
February 4, 5-8pm

2nd Reception: March 3, 5-8pm

527 East Main Street
Hillsboro, Oregon

I plan on having a print sale at the February 4th event - so come and get a deal on some monotypes.
...there is no gallery commission on these, so the prices will be good.

Thank you Lunaria Gallery in Silverton!
How nice to be honored with inclusion in the show and with the "Members' Choice" award.
I look forward to showing my work with you sometime in the future.

The smaller nurse log paintings are complete

These are 12"x12" paintings, with thread or thread and brass nails added! :0

I think they capture my thoughts about the intersection of humans and nature. Also the thread is adding a new element refering to other ideas - spider webs, surveyor's lines, embroidery, cats-cradle string games.

These are just my iphone pics - not the professional shots I will get in a few weeks.

The work will be included in my (3 person) show "Layers" at the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro - February -through March. More details coming.
